Celler Credo Volaina
Celler Credo Volaina is the result of a shared commitment of Celler Credo and the Granollers Natural Science Museum to research and raise awareness of the important role butterflies play in the ecosystem, as biondicator of climate change, pollinators and as a food source for other species.
Volaina , the wine that results from this collaboration, is made from grapes harvested from two vineyards in in Pla de Manlleu, one of the highest areas in Penedès. One is known as Els Pinyers (owned by winegrower Jaume Bargans); the other, Sant Miquel (owned by winegrower Jaume Nin). Both are cultivated in accordance with the principles of organic viticulture.
Volaina has strong varietal character with crisp acidity and a good palate.

Winery Description
We met them in 2019 during our wine trip to Penedes and Priorat. Ton Mata – the owner – welcomed us to the winery and joined our winery tour for two hours for a complete introduction of their philosophy and wines. It was a unique experience to meet a humble winemaker and his effort to produce terroir wines, mainly from indigenous grape varieties, that can easily be compared with high profile sparkling wines from other famous regions of the old world. Founding member of “Corpinnat“, 100% organic & biodynamic farming, 100% indigenous yeast by 2022 (now at 80-90%), long ageing process, 100% hand harvest, and so on. We are very proud to be selected as the exclusive importers of their products in Greece.
