We met them in 2019 during our wine trip to Penedes and Priorat. Ton Mata – the owner – welcomed us to the winery and joined our winery tour for two hours for a complete introduction of their philosophy and wines. It was a unique experience to meet a humble winemaker and his effort to produce terroir wines, mainly from indigenous grape varieties, that can easily be compared with high profile sparkling wines from other famous regions of the old world. Founding member of “Corpinnat“, 100% organic & biodynamic farming, 100% indigenous yeast by 2022 (now at 80-90%), long ageing process, 100% hand harvest, and so on.
