Petrakopoulos Wines Muscat of Cephalonia. Muscat is grown in an excellent vineyard in the area of Agona, one of the best in the PDO zone of the sweet Muscat of Kefalonia. It is located on a semi-mountainous slope with clay-sandy soils. It is cultivated on terraces and the vineyard benefits from the sea breeze which is a significant qualitative addition.
Starting from the vineyard with strict pruning, late harvest and selective sorting, we use for Muscat only top quality grapes. The concentration of the sugar content is enhanced by short and indirect exposure of the grapes to the sun. The process of fermentation takes place as naturally as possible, allowing the terroir and the variety to express their personality. We have chosen not to use clarifiers and filters, in order to better preserve the authentic character of the wine.
This dessert wine is a modern expression of Sweet Muscat. Its ethereal sweetness, the well-balanced acidity and the lack of oxidation in barrels highlights the elegant taste of the variety and the authentic character of the unique terroir.
