Lacules Merlot 2018

When Friedrich Gruber, an Austrian wine cellar constructor, decided to be a winemaker he chose no other place then that of Messinia, known for the production of high quality wines from the French varieties of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah. He build a mansion to settle his family, and all the necessary facilities to produce the wines as he saw fit. His daughter Barbara, oenologist with experience from Napa Valley, alongside her husband – professor of chemistry, created a few labels from those varieties. We met Barbara, which is more than happy to talk about their labels, and all the efforts that comes along with such a project.
